Book Haul! #1

I have done some book shopping as well and giveaway hunting!
I was lucky (twice) and won two great amazing giveaways these past months.
The first giveaways, I was able to snag the first two books in the Nightshade series.

Calla Tor has always known her destiny: After graduating from the Mountain School, she’ll be the mate of sexy alpha wolf Ren Laroche and fight with him, side by side, ruling their pack and guarding sacred sites for the Keepers. But when she violates her masters’ laws by saving a beautiful human boy out for a hike, Calla begins to question her fate, her existence, and the very essence of the world she has known. By following her heart, she might lose everything - including her own life. Is forbidden love worth the ultimate sacrifice
When Calla Tor wakes up in the lair of the Searchers, her sworn enemies, she's certain her days are numbered. But then the Searchers make her an offer, one that gives her the chance to destroy her former masters and save the pack and the man she left behind. Is Ren worth the price of her freedom? And will Shay stand by her side no matter what? Now in control of her own destiny, Calla must decide which battles are worth fighting and how many trials true love can endure and still survive
I'm really stoked to get started on this series.

The second giveaway I got my hands on
are light reads, Cry and laugh category.
The Fault In Our Stars by John Green

Diagnosed with Stage IV thyroid cancer at 13, Hazel was prepared to die until, at 14, a medical miracle shrunk the tumours in her lungs... for now.

Two years post-miracle, sixteen-year-old Hazel is post-everything else, too; post-high school, post-friends and post-normalcy. And even though she could live for a long time (whatever that means), Hazel lives tethered to an oxygen tank, the tumours tenuously kept at bay with a constant chemical assault.

Enter Augustus Waters. A match made at cancer kid support group, Augustus is gorgeous, in remission, and shockingly to her, interested in Hazel. Being with Augustus is both an unexpected destination and a long-needed journey, pushing Hazel to re-examine how sickness and health, life and death, will define her and the legacy that everyone leaves behind.

and The sky is everywhere by Jandy Nelson
Lennie plays second clarinet in the school orchestra and has always happily been second fiddle to her charismatic older sister, Bailey. Then Bailey dies suddenly, and Lennie is left at sea without her anchor. Overcome by emotion, Lennie soon finds herself torn between two boys: Bailey's boyfriend, Toby, and Joe, the charming and musically gifted new boy in town. While Toby can't see her without seeing Bailey and Joe sees her only for herself, each offers Lennie something she desperately needs. But ultimately, it's up to Lennie to find her own way toward what she really needs-without Bailey. A remarkable debut novel perfect for fans of Sarah Dessen, Deb Caletti, and Francesca Lia Block.
I've started on this novel, and it a attention grabber.

I just wish I had more time to read them all.

The last book is a book I had a while, i just recently found.

Review: The Lightning Thief ,Rick Riordan

Have you ever wondered if the Greek Gods had children in OUR world. Well think again. You might be one ;D
I took a rather long time to actually start reading this book. But since Mythology is involved, I devoured the book in one sitting. I really enjoyed it.

The story revolves around a 12-y/o boy Percy Jackson who is a demigod (son of Poseidon) with ADHD and dyslexia. He find out he is demigod when his pre-algebra teacher, Mrs. Dodds, attacks Percy, revealing that she is one of the three Furies. Percy and his mom take off for a trip to the beach. Late in the night, it sounds like a hurricane blows up and they're running for their lives. Percy winds up at Half-Blood Hill, a summer camp for the children of...Greek gods? He helps in finding the missing master bolt of his uncle Zeus to prevent the war between the two gods. In his quest, he is helped by Grover, a satyr and AnnaBeth also a demigod as she is the daughter of Athena, the daughter of Zeus.

Overall, I loved it!!! I so recommend it. To any age!
I've recently started on the sequel and so far enjoying it!
Look out for that review soon!

Los Angeles Times Book Festival Haul!

I was lucky enough to go, this year.
I managed to  spend my money wisely on BOOKS!!!

I did buy a book at the Target stand. Which was
The Sea Of Monsters
The second novel in the series of Percy & The Olympians
The story follows the adventures of thirteen-year-old demigod Percy as he and his friends rescue his satyr friend Grover from the Cyclops Polyphemus and save the camp from a titan's attack by bringing the Golden Fleece to cure Thalia's poisoned pine tree.
The book came out to $ 7 which is not bad.

I was soo happy when I saw the $5 dollar or less bookstore stands..
Hardbacks were five and paperbacks were 3.
I would of went wild, if I found enough books ;) Here are the three books I bought all in hardback totaling up the prize to $16

Memoirs of a teenage amnesiac:
Gabrielle Zevin
Description on back of book:
If Naomi had picked tails, she would have won the coin toss. She wouldn't have had to go back for the yearbook camera, and she wouldn't have hit her head on the steps. She wouldn't have woken up in an ambulance with amnesia. She certainly would have remembered her boyfriend, Ace. She might even have remembered why she fell in love with him in the first place. She would understand why her best friend, Will, keeps calling her "Chief." She'd know about her mom's new family. She'd know about her dad's fiancée. She never would have met James, the boy with the questionable past and the even fuzzier future, who tells her he once wanted to kiss her. She wouldn't have wanted to kiss him back.
But Naomi picked heads.

The second book has a strangely scary title. I was thinking hard of buying it or putting it back.

666 The Number of the Beast
Peter Abraham

A book combined with different horror stories.

Three Witches
Paula Jolin
Description on back of book:
Three seemingly ordinary girls, studying together in the same ordinary high school. All have their own reasons to summon Trevor Saunders after his car goes over a cliff. Aliya brings the mystical seances of Syria. Gillian contributes the voodoo arts from her native Trinidad. Miya shares the secret magic of ancient Japan. Will they be able use their powers to bring him back one more time? Should they?

I am siked to begin my readings! All seem like wonderful books.
Leave comments or questions about the books and as well as the festival.

The Iron King! My encounter with The fabulous Fey Series.

First things first. I loved it!!
Everyone should go on out and buy it!

I came across it at Walmart along with the other two books, but I was in a hurry to get a book; I never had heard of the Fey series at the moment, so I had no clue which book was first and so on. I flipped through them all and finally saw the order. (I have a habit of buying a book and later finding out there was TWO books before it.)

Once I started reading I couldn't put it down. I finished the book in two days that I had to beg them to take me back to walmart to get the other books. I was so determined to read about Ash and Meghan. Once we got there I started skimming through the books and the row were I found them at last Sunday. I searched a hundreds times, my sister told me to give up and pick up another book and then later go and buy it at the book store.

I ended up getting Percy and The Lighting Thief. Still have not finished and hooked on!
SADLY to say I have NOT gotten the second book. Grrrr! I'm waiting 'till christmas to get giftcards or money (crossing fingers).

Until then I'll be making little story videos in my noggin about Ash, Meghan and Puck. ♥

Until then you beautiful Noggins. Keep them clean. Read a book for that high epiphany.
